Leprechaun in Late Winter

For anyone not already familiar with this highly popular series, the Magic Tree House books are great for readers of mid to late elementary age. They cover a wide range of cultures and historical times and Mary Pope Osborne has recently added Leprechaun in Late Winter to the collection. In this adventure Jack and Annie end up in the Ireland of 1862 with a mission to help a girl named Augusta. As problems arise, the two siblings must rely on the help of a leprechaun. Of course my favorite part is that Kathleen gives the two adventurers a magic whistle to help them on their way.
